If you haven’t checked out Scott’s Addition here in Richmond your first stop should definitely be Ardent Craft Ales Taproom & Beer Garden.
The taproom is open everyday with varying hours. The taproom itself is, what I would call, ‘minimalist chic’, beautiful hardwood accents compliment the industrial elements while conveying a communal feel. The beer garden is open and expansive with lots of seating. Most weekends, if not every weekend, there is a food truck on site. I must say that ZZQ’s Truck has some of the best barbeque I have ever had. Ardent’s friendly and exceptionally knowledgeable staff add to the overall atmosphere.
Ardent offers three year round selections. Virginia Common, described as an ale-lager hybrid, Saison, a farmhouse-style ale, and their IPA. A wide range of seasonal, collaborations and reserve beers round out Ardent’s offerings. My particular seasonal favorite, albeit a peculiar sounding combination, is the Sweet Potato and Sage Ale.
I hope that you will check out Ardent when you visit Scott’s Addition and enjoy their taproom and their beers as much as I do.
