Cook Something, Eat Something!

Brunch at the Urban Farmhouse Market & Café

I have been off grid for a few months while my hubby heals from surgery and it feels great to finally be updating CookSomething! RVA

What better place to get back into the groove than a cozy, rusticly chic and pleasantly unique café… the Urban Farmhouse Market & Café. This café is located in the Midlo area and is the newer of the two Urban20130806-124252.jpg Farmhouse locations with the Midlo café opening earlier this year.

Walking in you are greeted by an almost effortlessly comfortable “chill spot”. Calm and subtle colors with splashes of artwork, beautiful lighting and a couple of great, comfy couches.  Even the little “G”‘s room was cool; I love a great bathroom!

We started off our meal with a Mimosa, with fresh squeezed orange juice, of course, recommended by the friendly staff.  As promised, it was delicious!  I should have ordered a pitcher of the stuff and long straw, but I had errands that just had to be run!

Brunch did not disappoint!  I ordered the Fresh Mozzarella and Fresh Summer Basil Egg Scrambler.

The scrambler was served with pear and orange slices, and a piece of toast (delivered daily from The Flour Garden and Prairie Grain Bakery) with a delicate whipped butter that truly melted in my mouth.  The eggs and basil were fresh and full of flavor complimented perfectly by the creamy mozzarella melted on top.

I thoroughly enjoyed our experience and the food!  I will be back regularly to eat and SHOP!

In addition to great food and surroundings, Urban Farmhouse also features a Saturday farmer’s market and lots of live music.  Checkout Urban Farmhouse Market & Café in Midlothian and maybe I’ll see ya there!
